Stories of success in facilitating prototypes, small quantity and urgent large scale production: ixes is worldwide active with success.
With a couple of concrete examples drawing from our daily business, we show you how ixes handles customer’s inquiries.
Story 1: Complete solution to manage excess inventory.
17 January 2006, 2:00 p.m.
Inquiry of a well-known OEM: Before its European production sites are sold, excessive and obsolescent inventories should be centrally marketed and cleared.
30 January 2006, 4:00 p.m.
ixes brings in a customized consignment concept.
13 February 2006, 10:30 a.m.
The contracts are signed. The deal is perfectly concluded.
27 February 2006, 8:00 a.m.
The collection and supervision of product flows are completely handled by ixes.
As ixes AG performs quality control, the inventories are classified and simultaneously selected. Marketable stocks are transferred to ixes’ central logistics warehouse in Dreieich.
8 March 2006, 9:00 a.m.
ixes converts the inventories into liquid assets in the global secondary market. For those unmarketable stocks, ixes generates revenue by selling them as raw materials.
Story 2: Global sourcing without extra costs.
9 March 2006, 8:00 a.m.
A threatening standstill of production line, resulting from material delivery problems, drives an OEM to seek assistance from ixes AG.
9 March 2006, 9:30 a.m.
Thanks to its worldwide connections, ixes quickly finds the required goods from an Asian supplier.
13 March 2006, 11:00 a.m.
The goods are delivered directly to the OEM’s assembly line by courier. The production standstill is avoided.
Story 3: Outsourcing with Kitting service.
31 March 2006, 11:00 a.m.
Inquiry: To cope with the introduction of prototypes and small quantity production, an OEM seeks alternative outsourcing solutions to his own high-cost component procurement.
4 - 6 April 2006, 1:30 p.m.
ixes develops a procurement concept, in which the identification of sources of supply and price comparisons are standardized.
At the same time, the deliveries are consolidated. Invoices are converted into once a month billing. Inspection of merchandised goods, parts’ numbers and vendor listings can be right away assigned with the internal Oracle system. These save resources.
18 April 2006, 9:30a.m.
Instead of purchasing individual parts separately, component kits are ordered. Kitting, a service of ixes AG, in which all required components are prepackaged and delivered, enables our client to save costs, storage space and minimizes the complexity. The kit, consisting of the required components (say, with or without circuit boards), is straightly forwarded to the customer or the installation personnel.
Story 4: Looking for prototypes.
14 August 2006, 7:50 a.m.
A small amount of special capacitor, that a CEM needs for the development of an important prototype, can no longer be found in Europe.
14 August 2006, 8:00 a.m.

14 August 2006, 9:30 a.m.
ixes in Florida has identified a supplier.
16 August 2006, 10.00 a.m.
The parts are delivered on time. By the way, the CEM has successfully got a large scale production order...
