ixes AG and Amulet Technologies announce
Distribution Agreement for Graphical User Interface (GUI) Technology in Central Europe
Frankfurt, Germany and San Jose, CA (March, 2008) – Amulet Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company specializing in human interface electronics, announces a strategic distribution partnership with ixes AG, an independent distributor of semiconductor components in Europe. Ixes AG will distribute Amulet’s graphical touch control products throughout Central Europe.
“A franchised distribution partnership with Amulet strengthens our ability to offer complete solutions to our customers,” stated Gerd Brügel, CEO of ixes AG. “With the growing popularity of graphic displays for applications across Europe, we feel it is the perfect time to make such an investment for our customers.”
Amulet Technologies, an industry leader in human interface electronics, is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in chips and firmware that drive liquid crystal display (LCD) user interfaces. Amulet’s unique Graphical OS in Silicon™ enables OEMs to cost effectively improve users’ experience with their products through visually appealing, interactive user interfaces that provide rock-solid 24/7 reliability. Amulet’s innovative hardware and software – combined with its collaborative design philosophy -- empowers OEMs to provide their customers with the highest quality user experience.
“Partnering with ixes AG allows us to build key relationships with leading electronic product designers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland,” said Ken Klask, CEO of Amulet Technologies. “With its emphasis on customer service and its outstanding inventory and procurement techniques, ixes has built a strong and loyal following of customers throughout Europe.”
Ixes AG, headquartered in Frankurt, Germany, is one of the largest independent distributors of semiconductor components in Europe. The company, which operates a state-of-the-art full-service warehouse facility at its headquarters, has experienced rapid sales growth over the past five years.
Key vertical markets in this European territory include white goods, medical devices, and industrial controls. Because a positive end-user experience is crucial to success in these industries, OEMs are increasingly demanding monochrome and full-color graphic displays to improve the usability and user-friendliness of their products.
Amulet’s integrated circuits (ICs) and firmware for driving monochromatic and full-color graphic displays, enables engineering and marketing teams to visually design their GUI with HTML and graphic editors. Product designers can use Amulet’s advanced graphic capabilities, which support alpha blending, to create embedded user interfaces that have a photo realistic or PC-based look, all without the traditional drain of power or memory. Furthermore, with Amulet running the entire user interface, the GUI code remains separate from the application code, which offers such benefits as easier debugging, faster GUI execution, and the ability for engineering and marketing teams to design the GUI and application code in tandem.
